Reminder Saturday, March 8th and March 15th, are our player evaluation days and parent meetings.
In a greater effort to try and even out the teams as much as possible, we will be having a team placement day (player evaluation) for both Softball and Baseball players for the Coach/Pitching Machine, Minor, and Major divisions. Our goal for this event is to have the kids run through some drills (see below FAQ) so we can better gauge the skill levels in all kids, with the hopes of being able to have all the overall team skill sets as close to each other as possible. Like years past we will try and honor all player/coach requests but please keep in mind not all kids will end up with the coach/other players they requested. All siblings will still be on the same team if playing in the same division.

KEY POINT:
This is NOT a tryout. All kids will still be on a team like in the past even if you can not make the event. Our goal is to try and have a few fun drills for the kids to run through and that's all.
ALL MAJOR BOYS MUST ATTEND PLAYER EVALUATION DAY. WE WILL BE REDRAFTING ALL TEAMS FOR 2025 AS WE MOVE TO 6 TEAMS THIS YEAR.

LOCATION: INSIDE the St. Clair High School Old Gym: PLEASE ENTER THROUGH THE NEW GYM ENTRANCE OFF OF COX ROAD.

When is the parent's meeting?
It will be at the same time your children are going through their drills (see above times) We will be meeting in the media center. Don't worry you will be instructed when you check your child in where to go. We will try and round up all the parents who might be in the gym and direct them to the media center. This will not be long but we just want to cover a few things with all parents that we feel are important. Please bring any questions you might have as I can talk LL all day long.

What is team placement day?
It is a chance for the league to see all the participants and try to better distribute the teams.

Where is it?
INSIDE the St. Clair High School Old Gym: PLEASE ENTER THROUGH THE NEW GYM ENTRANCE OFF OF COX ROAD. It is NOT at the LL fields

What if I can't make it?
Even though we really would like you to come, we understand things happen. You will still be placed on a team regardless if you attend the event or not.

Is this a Try Out?
NO all kids will make a team no matter what.

What do I do when I get there? Enter from the new gym entrance and walk down the long hall way and you will be greeted by some smiling face most of you will recognize. You or your child will let us know their name and  we will hand you a bib to pin on you children. Since you arrived a little early to give us plenty of time to get all the bibs on everyone, you will then go hang out in the gym until the coaches come out and round up all the players to run them through the drills.

What drills will the kids be doing?
The kids will play catch, receive a couple of ground balls, and a couple of fly balls, and will hit off a pitching machine in a batting cage.

What equipment should we bring?
Glove, bat, and a helmet (Girls should also have a fielder's mask). We will have enough for the kids to use if you do not have a bat or helmet. Have the kids dress in athletic clothes and tennis shoesPLEASE NO CLEATS, WE ARE HAVING THIS IN THE St. Clair High School GYM

Why are we doing this?
Most other leagues go through this process and we hope to be able to have all the overall team skill sets as close to each other as possible. We know that this isn't a perfect system, but after teammate and coach requirements, we try our best to make them as close as possible.

How soon after our drills day will I be called and told what team I am on?
It might still be about a week until you are notified by email which team you are on, just like in years past. It does take some time to put the teams together.  The kids will not be separated by skill or drafted to a team while in the gym. The coaches will make notes and do this at a later time.

T-Ball Beginner’s Day – What’s It All About?
Ever wish that on your first day of a new job, you could start alongside others who are just as new as you? That’s exactly what Beginner’s Day is for!
This special event is designed for kids who are brand new to the sport or may not feel as confident as their peers.
Our goal is to help them get comfortable with basic drills, terminology, and the fundamentals of T-ball—all in a fun, relaxed setting.
We’ll introduce the basics, making it easier for every player to learn and enjoy the game. And yes, we’ll even show them how to use that funny-looking leather thing they’ll be wearing on their hand!
If you have older kids with some baseball experience, we’d love for them to come and help out too! Let’s make this a great start for our future ballplayers!
