SCHEDULE CHANGE: Minor and major division games scheduled for May 14 will be played on May 31 at their scheduled times. This change is due to the SCMS Awards Night.

Field Maintenance

We really appreciate the efforts you’re making to keep our fields on good shape. However, these tips will really help:

If you don’t do anything else, do this: Fill in the holes in the batter”s box, the catcher’s area, pitcher’s mound, and around each base.
At the pitchers mound, please pull the dirt from the outside in. Pulling it away causes us to lose dirt in the grass.
In the infields, please pull dirt toward the inside edge. Otherwise, we end up with a lip and many bad bounces.

Speed Limit

The speed limit in the driveways at our fields is 15 MPH. Please drive slowly and carefully. Also please exit the park safely. Remember that traffic on Fred Moore Hwy. is moving at 55 MPH +.

Parking

We’ve added a large parking lot across from Fields 5 and 6. Please do not park on the driveway next to those fields. Use the new parking lot instead. Parking on the driveway does not allow for 2-way traffic and it increases the chances that a child will cross the driveway unseen. Thank you.

Opening Day / Parade

This Saturday, May 5 will be our Opening Day. All players are asked to begin lining up for the parade at 8:30 am at the northeast corner of the Riverview Plaza parking lot. The parade will begin at 9:00. The route is Vine St. to M-29 to St. Clair Hwy. to Goffe St. to Klecha Park. Games will start at the Little League fields at 11:00. The opening day game and picture schedules are available on the “2012 Schedules” tab.

The Challenger Division of Little League is a program for mentally and physically challenged youth, helping them to enjoy the full benefits of Little League participation in an athletic environment structured to their abilities. More than the skills of baseball learned through the experience, the value of the Little League Challenger Division is found in the proven therapeutic and socialization benefits of participating in sports, the strengthening of participants’ self-esteem, the opportunities to mainstream into other divisions of play, and the disciplines of teamwork, sportsmanship and fair play, which are hallmarks of the Little League program.

The Little League Challenger Division provides the framework so Little League programs may offer a structured, athletic activity for all youth in their communities. Playing with the same equipment on the same fields, Challenger Division participants have the opportunity to experience the joys of pulling together as a team, being cheered, and earning awards for their achievements.

Open to anyone ages 5 to 22 (or the completion of high school) in St. Clair County
Cost is $30.00 per child, this includes their uniform
You need to bring their birth certificate
